I’ve got a bit of a personal distaste with LG. Their “1080p” tv that I’m currently using as a monitor is pretty much a clever marketing gimmick. If you look at the box, it says it SUPPORTS 1080, but the ACTUAL maximum resolution (which was NOT anywhere on the box) is actually 1360×768. My recommendation is avoid LG.
you cant beat a good hdtv
cool video
VGA does support high def btw, im using it now at 1620 (well above 1080p).
Progressive / interlaced has NOTHING to do with refresh rate.
interlaced is a new name for “scan lines”
basically interlaced televisions are “MOCK” resolutions, and draw every other line.
then come back and fill in the missing lines (same as an interlaced JPG)
progressive starts at 1, and goes to the end.
your videos are filled with these errors. nub.
When it comes to TV internet features, I would just get a Roku and save myself $200 because they overcharge out the whazoo for internet streaming on TVs
I showed my dad this video before I bought him a TV so he would know something about TVs. He had a 17 year old big ass CRT TV that I got headaches from because it is so old and blurry. I got him an LCD tv and he said “WHY DIDNT WE GET ONE OF THESE 10 YEARS AGO?!” lol
Very Nice… I Also Learned Much From This Video
Nice tutorial. Learned alot from this vid.
you’re the man! good review excellent explanation
corsair 800D case:)
Beautifull
Actually, it is still SD. Just because it can work on an HDTV, doesn’t mean its HD. The image is not 1080p, but most likely a lower resolution, just blown up fill every pixel.
Using an analog on an HDTV will never look as good as using digital.
For instance, I have a VGA and HDMI connection from my GPU. It still says “1980×1080″, but the image is much less sharp and defined than the HDMI/DVI connection.
analogue always usually means standard def. idiot
Yer a fu-ckin dumb one, aren’t you. There was no debate!
CRT’s do 2048×1536 just fine.
so you’re paying for true blacks? Dude you’re a racist
no.
the DVI input doesn’t support 720p for my pc so I have to use the old RGB pc input.
HAHAHAHAHAHA. A logician! If not familiar, you might find that Bertrand Russell and Wittgenstein dumped that shit by their 40s. I did a few years ago. Good luck with it, though.
just the way i sit across from it i use the full width of my room plus a foot or two of diagonal.
And that they’re STILL stupid enough to USE such a moniker. I’m not even human, I’m so uncategorizable.
I can use vernacular however I wish. Besides, it’s not my fault homosexual people were stupid enough to take on a moniker that was used by other to denigrate, etc.
well my 42 works fine for my living space, movie viewing, gaming, viewing angle, resolution, and even car size… i also sit back farther from it than most i suppose. nothing fancy but it looks great
oh i wasnt commenting on the viewing angle. i tend to not have problems with that on my tv. i don’t really require a wide range for it either.
thats what i said… you dont need insane resolution unless you have a huge screen. i went with 42 myself. works great and fits in the backseat of my car still
you dont even need 4k unless your tv is over 70 inches or you are sitting verrrrry close to your screen. 8k? just marketing crap.
@WeirdJerz3y
The TV may not support 1080p via VGA. Which is gaaay.
Please check my channel pre-build
Starting less then $400.00 dollars,
Write to me if u want me to build you a computer and tell me what you going to use it for
Thanks!
you guys might want to make a fallow up video including OLED and glasses free 3D TVs, just a suggestion to get a jump on tech to come
VGA will go to 1080p yes, but he said it doesnt support 1080p video.
I love this guy!. Keep up the great work!.
So he says VGA does not support HD? Lol. Another mistake. VGA from my laptop to my TV is 1080p. Analog does not mean standard def.
How is 720p more quality in 1080i?
Newegg, since this is a video on HDTV tech can you make a video or even easy just reply me on the difference between plasma and normal LCDtv or LEDtv technology . There are many sites that tell about it but they are really confusing and You explain great ! SDo if you could… Would be really appreciating !
Omg, NewEgg is like a school to me dude, every time I see this cool dude making a new video I’m actually learning lol, im dropping out, hello newegg.
Thanks for the great upload!
wont lie i got to give thsi video a thumbs up. but is the tv just lcd or is it led lcd
People say the max res of VGA is 1650×1200, but I have it running 1080p 60hz perfectly fine. The only reason to go DVI instead is because it’s digital not analog.
